We offer:
Cardiothoracic Surgery
At the heart of cardiac care at Vista Heath System is cardiothoracic surgery—surgery that treats diseases of the heart and lungs. These vital surgeries are performed in our facility by our trained cardiac team, offering you professional care for your heart right in your community.
Coronary Artery Bypass and Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
Bypass surgery uses veins or arteries from another part of a patient's body to graft or attach to the coronary arteries, in order to bypass diseased arteries and increase blood flow to the heart. It is usually performed with the patient's heart "stopped", and typically requires open-chest surgery and the use of a heart-lung bypass machine to circulate the blood and add oxygen.
Open Heart Surgery
Open heart surgery is when the patient's heart is open and surgery is performed on his/her internal structures. It's a broad term and can include a number of procedures, many of which are performed here.
Other surgical options include:
- Minimally invasive valve surgery
- A-fib surgery
- Surgical ventricular restoration
- Mitral valve replacement/repair
- Aortic valve replacement
- Subxiphoid pericardial windows
- Video assisted throacoscopic
- Pulmonary resections
- Talc pleurodesis
- Esophageal surgery
- Endobronchial ultrasound
- Vascular Surgery
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs
- Peripheral vascular surgery
- Carotid artery stent
Following open heart surgery, patients are admitted to our newly renovated Intensive Care Unit. Here, they'll be able to recover under the constant watch of our caring staff. We also have a newly remodeled Progressive Care Unit at Vista Medical Center East, with all private rooms and the latest technology to make sure that our cardiac patients continue to recover under quality care.
