Mammography
with ImageChecker® is a computer
aided detection system to identify abnormalities
in the breast. Frequently called a “second
look”, ImageChecker®
highlights suspicious areas on the mammography
film for a more detailed review by the radiologist.
Use
of ImageChecker® could result
in the earlier detection of up to 23.4%
of the cancers currently detected with screening
mammography in those women who had a prior
screening mammogram 9 – 24 months earlier
– FDA-approved claim
Use
of this technology also minimizes the chance
for false positive readings during screening
mammograms which reduces a woman’s anxiety.
Need
for Mammography Screenings
Studies have shown that the key to survival
of breast cancer is early detection through
the use of regular self-exams and the use
of mammography. Early detection means a woman
can receive treatment before the disease has
a chance to grow and spread.
