Mammography with ImageChecker®
Vista Imaging Center Offers New Mammography Technology

Mammography with ImageChecker® is a computer aided detection system to identify abnormalities in the breast. Frequently called a “second look”, ImageChecker® highlights suspicious areas on the mammography film for a more detailed review by the radiologist.

Use of ImageChecker® could result in the earlier detection of up to 23.4% of the cancers currently detected with screening mammography in those women who had a prior screening mammogram 9 – 24 months earlier – FDA-approved claim

Use of this technology also minimizes the chance for false positive readings during screening mammograms which reduces a woman’s anxiety.

Need for Mammography Screenings
Studies have shown that the key to survival of breast cancer is early detection through the use of regular self-exams and the use of mammography. Early detection means a woman can receive treatment before the disease has a chance to grow and spread.

To aid in a woman’s quest for early detection, Vista Health System offers screening mammograms at several locations:

  • Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan
  • The Vista Imaging Center, Gurnee
  • The Vista Surgery Center, Lindenhurst
