| At
Vista Health System, we understand that good health
is more than a body that works well. It is
feeling good about one's self and dealing
effectively with the people and situations
around you. It includes growing spiritually
toward a new sense of wholeness and meaning
of life.
Chaplains
at both hospitals offer spiritual care to
all persons of any faith tradition and to
those without a religious affiliation. Our
chaplains are aware of diverse religious and
cultural beliefs and practices and/or special
needs surrounding significant life passages.
Our spiritual care is anchored in a belief
that all persons are created in the image
of God. We believe that health encompasses
physical, emotional, relational, ethical and
spiritual concerns and that God is the source
of all healing.
At
Vista Medical Center East, a trained chaplain
is available to assist with the spiritual
and emotional needs of patients and families.
An interfaith chapel is located on the first
floor of the hospital and is open for prayer
and meditation 24 hours a day.
Vista
Health Support Groups
We also offer special memorial services that are conducted every
at Vista Medical Center East for bereaved families. On
a regular basis, chaplains are available to
assist families with advance directives.
At
Vista Medical Center West chaplains also
are on call 24 hours a day to provide encouragement,
spiritual support and consultation to patients
and their loved ones. A chapel is
also available at all times for meditation and prayer.
