Post-Operative Care
Intensive Care Unit
Following open heart surgery, patients are first brought to Vista’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It features a contemporary, functional design that keeps patients in direct view of the nurses’ stations.
The ICU specializes in caring for patients with myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock and acute coronary syndrome. Each room has an over-sized glass sliding door facing one of several nurses’ stations in the unit. Additionally, all rooms have sophisticated monitoring equipment. Patients in the ICU are cared for by skilled critical care nurses and physician specialists.
Progressive Care Unit
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Vista Medical Center East is a unit with all private rooms designed for patients with cardiovascular disease. This includes patients with cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
